Out of the 330 plus swords found in Norway the Viking Long Sax was the most common.
The Norwegian Vikings prefered the Long Sax to other swords.
A few were found in Sweden, the Orkneys, Ireland and one in England.
None were found in Denmark.
The Long Sax was used from 775 to about 900 c.e.

Pommel is removeable for repeening if needed. The Hilt upper and lower guards are bronze and hardwood.

Oaths of fealty were sworn on the ring. A few swords of this type were found in Vendal
Valsgarde, Sutton Hoo and in Kent England burial sites.This sword has a triple laminated
and riveted upper and lower guard. The Oath ring is attached to the brass pommel.

Vendal Ring Sword

Rings swords were rare, only belonging to Kings and highly prized.
The Snartemo ring Sword was the only one found with the oath ring attached
to the lower guard was found at Snartemo Norway. The brass bound hardwood
hand grip is decorated with a Thor Hammer and Knotwork. Handcrafted.36 inches
